II Samuel 6:14
And David danced before the LORD with all his might, wearing a priestly tunic

Dance Before The Lord

Last week I spoke of specific prayers being prayed and being answered.  I encouraged everyone to believe the prayers they pray are going to come to pass.  Well, God decided to do a little demonstration of the devotional for me personally a couple of days after I wrote those words.

My three-year-old grandson had a lot of health problems during the month of August.  He had surgery twice to have cysts removed on the 8th and the 10th. After the surgery, he didn't seem quite like himself. He would just lie around and last week began complaining about severe stomach pains. Tuesday night we went to the ER. After an ultrasound, we were told there was no blood flow to his right testicle and he would have to be rushed back to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis.

Right before they left with him, I prayed with my daughter-in-law. I prayed, "Lord, let the blood flow freely, remove whatever is blocking the flow.  When we get to Le Bonheur with Jon, let those doctors wonder what we are doing there."

When we got to LeBonheur the doctors tried to determine exactly where he hurt, Jon said, "Nowhere" and went to sleep.  The nurse laughed and asked, "Well what are you doing here?"  They did a second ultrasound.  We waited for the results.  About ten Wednesday morning a doctor came to the room and said the blood was flowing normally.  The test showed no problem.  He said he wasn't questioning our local hospital's capabilities, but perhaps there had been some sort of human or equipment error.

I knew no errors had anything to do with that report. We saw his coloring. We saw how severe his pain had been. We even read the written report that said, "no blood flow, loss of color." I knew God had healed Jon. I knew it was a miracle.  I was tired and it took a few moments for me to know that God answered a specific prayer request specifically, exactly like I had asked.  I asked for God to let the blood flow freely and for the doctors to wonder why we were there.

That is exactly what happened.

I went outside and did what I call my happy dance. No one was looking, but God I hope.

I again encourage you to pray specific prayers.  Let God know exactly what you need in your life.  When He answers, make sure to praise Him with your whole heart.  Go ahead and do a little happy dance for Him.  I think our happy dances make God smile.
