Psalm 62:8  Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Psalm 100:5 - For GOD is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.

When you find a true friend, you have found a blessing from God.  Sometimes we expect too much from people. Even though people come into our lives and give us joy and hope, it is important to remember people are people. People are very imperfect.  Christians are called to be Christ-like, but we are not Christ. We make some very un-Christlike decisions and mistakes. We sometimes say hurtful things to each other. If you have found a true friend be careful to be a true friend. Don't place unreal expectations on people.  If you do you will be disappointed and you most likely will also be a disappointment.  Expect perfection from God, not from man.

Pedestal People
When people placed on pedestals come crashing to the ground,
You feel your heart breaking without making a sound.
When the pedestals crumble and the people fall,
You feel as if you can no longer run or walk, you can't even crawl.
When you feel you have been left  all alone to sink,
You try to hide the tears, but you don't have time to think.
After you dry your tears  as best you can,
Remember humans are human, they are merely man.
After you pick up the pieces of your broken heart,
Remember it's up to you to allow the healing to start.
After you analyze and criticize, reality sets in.
Remember forgiving is Christ-like, grudges eat away quickly turning to sin.
When people fail you, let you down, and disappoint,
God will stand strong, lift you, and anoint.
When unreal reality  yields trust robbing disillusionment,
God's reality fills you with life-giving empowerment.
When people you count on abandon you,
Count on God to lovingly surround you.
Never wish it could have been.
Never say it should have been.
Simply use the lesson learned to make you stronger.
Friends love but for a while, God's love lasts much longer.
