Definitions from American Heritage Dictionary
This week a praise report came in on the prayer chain. Someone got the job they had always wanted. They asked God specifically and He heard and answered specifically.  Amanda was very honest and admitted that her humanness was attempting to win out over her faith when she asked.   She found that God's Word is very true and He knew the desires of her heart and gave her exactly what she desired because she had remained faithful to Him.  Sometimes it is easy to let a little doubt enter in when we pray, especially when we pray for something for ourselves.  I find it is so much easier to believe for other people's desires being
granted than those of my own. I sometimes feel a little guilty I suppose to ask for something for myself.  We should stand fast on God's WORD, on God's promises, on God's love and BELIEVE.
Remember God is always the same. He is steadfast, fixed, unchanging, firmly loyal, and constant. He is faithful, even when we aren't.
2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
I found the dictionary definition closely reflects I John's definition of love. I John defines love as God and so does the dictionary. One entry for the definition of love in the American Heritage dictionary is God's benevolence and mercy toward man. God loves us with a steadfast love!
After  we pray a prayer we should stand fast intact, unchanged, firmly fixed, not readily moved by our own doubts or anyone else's that our Father will give His children good gifts.
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
He will grant us the desires of our heart.
Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
We should believe that all good things are readily available if we follow after Him with our whole heart.  Stand fast on His steadfast love.
